Free eBooks from Microsoft Press, no really!

These free MSPress eBooks represent valuable study guides in preparing for many Microsoft certification exams. And don't think that since you are studying for a client certification exam (e.g. 70-680, 70-685 and 70-686), that understanding server technology is not important to your certification exam success. You do need to understand the relationship between the desktop computer and the server in various network configurations.

Virtualization technology (Hyper-V) is fast becoming the standard delivery model for Microsoft Official Curriculum courses (instructor-led). Since Hyper-V is only available on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64, this free eBook is a great companion to the Windows Server 2008 R2 eBook (find link below).

The eBook: Own Your Future: Update Your Skills with Resources and Career Ideas from Microsoft, by Katherine Murray is a great eBook for students preparing for a career in the IT industry. The ebook contains eight chapters and an appendix describing how you can assess and build your technology-based job skills. Think about these predictions, taken from this eBook:

"In the midst of a struggling economy, our fast-changing, knowledge-based
economy has created unprecedented challenges for employers and workers
alike. Employers increasingly need workers with a broad range of information
technology (IT) skills. These skills will become even more important as we
continue to retool major sectors of our economy, such as healthcare, transportation
and energy. By 2014, more than three-quarters of all jobs in the
United States will require some level of computing or technology skills, and
the vast majority of newly created jobs will require post-secondary education or training."
